Conference dedicated to World Day for Safety at Work
The conference, dedicated to the World Day for safety at work (April 28) was held in the reading room of the Research Library.
The event was attended by the head of the State Inspection for industrial and occupational safety in Cherkasy Region Yuri Haydaychuk, chief inspector of the Department of occupational safety in Uman and Uman district Alexander Pidgornyi, head of the department of occupational safety and working conditions of Social Security Administration Olexander Pustovyi, lecturers of Engineering and Technology Faculty and students.
Yuri Haydaychuk spoke about the Law of Ukraine On Labour Protection, social and economic significance of occupational safety, main legislative acts on occupational safety On compulsory social insurance against accidents at work and occupational diseases causing disability.
The motto of the World Day for Health and Safety at Work in 2013 is Prevention of occupational diseases. Every year about 8,000 of occupational diseases and up to 105,000 of accidents at workplace are registered in Ukraine.
At the end of his report Yuri Haydaychuk answered students’ questions.
The participants thanked the experts for the interesting and useful meeting.
