Apple Tree Grafting Workshop

On the initiative of the head of Education, Research and Production Department Roman Dluhoborskyi and the Chair of Fruit-growing and Viticulture the workshop of apple tree grafting was held. Scions of the best-selling apple varieties were provided by the head of the farm "Sadok Podillya" I.V.Kushnir and the rootstocks were grown in the nursery of the research laboratory of Uman National University of Horticulture.

 The best students of the second, third and forth year of study of the Faculty of Fruit and Vegetable-Growing, Ecology and Plant Protection took part in the workshop.

Grafting tools were provided by the Chair of Fruit-growing and Viticulture, there are about 135 knives for  grafting, including professional ones of Swiss company «Victorinox».

1000 young apple trees will be grown for the university orchard.
