Uman National University of Horticulture was presented to the Spain scientific community
Within the framework of the Tempus project ‘Qantus’ a meeting of Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation Activity, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor Viktor Karpenko with co-contractors of the programme from EU and Ukraine in Lleida (Catalonia, Spain) at the University of Lleida, founded over 700 years ago, was held. Today the University is the largest and renowned educational-scientific center not only in Spain but also abroad. Detailed tour to the university was on the basis of School of Agrifood and Forestry Science and Engineering (ETSEA). It was created in 1972, has its own campus, the largest in Spain and Europe. The ETSEA offers the highest quality teaching, adapted to the European Higher Education Area. The faculty teaches 1500 students. The laboratories and seminars have been adapted to new technologies, allowing for theoretical lectures and practical activities.
During the visit, meeting with leading scientists of the University, tour to material and technical base, scientific library, scientific laboratories were held. During meetings with scientists, Uman National University of Horticulture was presented, its scientific achievements and prospects of their use by European partners, also a number of issues concerning educational process at university, features of teaching subjects within the Bologna process and so on were discussed. The meeting became a useful tool in revealing the potential possibilities of both institutions Uman NUH and the University of Lleida, towards the implementation of joint projects, including the implementation of the announced project ‘Qantus’.
