From April 15 to 20, actions “Clean Environment” and “Plant a Tree” were organized in Uman National University of Horticulture. Students and university teaching staff took an active part in them.
During the week 10,2 ha of the campus were cleaned. Students of all faculties, particularly students of Forestry and Horticulture Department planted various trees, shrubs and flowers in order to arrange green spaces at university campus, near Uman schools and schools of Uman district.
On April 16 a lot of trees and shrubs, namely thuja, juniper, forsythia, boxtrees, spiraea and fir-trees were planted near school № 1.
On April 18 students and teaching staff arranged green area near school № 7, where apple-trees, thuja, juniper, daffodils, tulips and asters were planted.
For the beautification of the university campus the participants of the action planted 50 thujas, 20 shrubs of juniper, 30 ornamental apple-trees, 2000 hornbeam trees, which form a hedge on Internationalna Street.
These green areas will become a real decoration of Uman and Uman district.
