The 69th anniversary of Ukraine’s liberation from German Fascist invaders

On the 28th of October our nation celebrates the 69th anniversary of the liberation from the Hitlerian occupiers.

More than five million of Ukrainians destroyed Hitlerian troops during the years of fighting that took place on the territory of our country. During World War II were killed 168,481 of our countrymen – inhabitants of Cherkashchyna. Among them, more than 151 thousand of servicemen, guerrillas, soldiers, exterminatory battalions and national militia. Fascist troops destroyed more than 120 thousand of civilians on the territory of our region.

Historically, from the very beginning of the war and up to the moment of liberation of Ukraine from the brown plague, Shevchenko land was the field of brutal battles.

So, this day we want to bow to soldiers-winners. Because our people and representatives of all nationalities who died for the liberation of the Ukrainian land, as well as those who died on the occupied territory, in concentration camps, on the fascist hard labor, all who in defiance of fate survived in those terrible years, undoubtedly deserved national recognition and honor!

Today we express our sincere gratitude to those, who in spite of death, bitterness of loss and infernal fire of fights for the sake of future generations were going to the victory.

On behalf of the Student Government Council and collaborators of the university, we thank countrymen-liberators for their memorable deed.

We wish you, by the power of your spirit, to give an example of patriotism to the younger generation. We wish you happiness, good health, cheerfulness of spirit.

We believe that Ukraine will never forget the heroism of their liberators!
