Open Day

The celebration of “Open Day” was held in the assembly hall of the University on February 16, 2013. About 500 future school graduates, students of technical colleges and their parents arrived from different regions of Ukraine at the meeting with university administration, deans of the faculties and heads of departments.

The Rector, Doctor of Economics, Professor Olena Oleksandrivna  Nepochatenko  greeted the participants on behalf of the teaching staff. She said that Uman National University of Horticulture was founded in 1844 and is one of the most prestigious educational institutions of Ukraine. During its existence, it has established itself as a leader in agricultural education, an important academic and research center, a center of culture and spirituality. Its reputation has been gained by many generations of teachers, researchers, students and alumni.

Olena Oleksandrivna also noted that all necessary facilities are created for students, such as powerful material base, classrooms and labs, computer labs, modern scientific library with wireless access to the Internet.
This year department of military training has been opened at the university. At the end of studies students receive the military rank of lieutenant.
The deans made presentations about faculties, educational programs, specialities, they spoke about practical training, training abroad, living conditions and students extracurricular activities.

Graduates of secondary schools were acquainted with the rules of admission in 2013-2014 and invited to preliminary courses for independent external testing preparation.
At the end of the celebration there was a concert, organized by creative teams of Centre for Culture and Education.
