Environmental action "Everyone can help to solve environmental problems by separation of household waste"

On June 6 the action Everyone can help to solve environmental problems by separation of household waste was held to mark International Environment Day. People in Ukraine began to pay attention to that problem not long ago. So the main purpose of the action was to draw attention to the problem of household waste. According to the scientists, one person makes about 400 kg of waste per year. Experts predict that the amount of waste will increase for at least 4 times by 2025, and the cost of processing and storage for 3 times.
Nowadays refuse tips occupy over 4% the territory of Ukraine.

 To slow down the process of waste accumulation we should learn to sort and recycle it.
On June 6 near students’ hostels №4 and №5 special container for the three types of waste were placed:
- for plastic;
- for organic waste,
- for mixed waste.
