International cooperation in action: internships of postgraduates-gardeners in Wroclaw

   On the 16 of May, 2013 Uman National University of Horticulture hosted a delegation of Life Sciences and Technology Faculty at the Wroclaw University Of Environmental and Life Sciences (Poland), consisting of  Dean, Dr. Adam Szewczuk, Doctors Piotr Chohura and Marta Czaplicka and Vice-Dean Wieslaw Wojciechowski, who came to sign a cooperation agreement.

   In the framework of agreement, such cooperation was initiated by the Department of Horticulture and Viticulture, postgraduates of which took part in the competition for a grant of  Wroclaw University Of Environmental and Life Sciences for a short-term internship concerning their thesis researches.

   In the end of July, the Department received notification from the International Relations Office of  Wroclaw University Of Environmental and Life Sciences (www.up.wroc.pl) of Poland about providing a grant to postgraduates participation in the curriculum of Professor Stanislaw Tolp. It will compensate the financial costs for residence of  trainees in Poland,  except of health insurance and trip.

   Olga Sharapanyuk from  November 15, 2013 to February 15, 2014 has the ability to internship at the Department of Horticulture of Life Sciences and Technology Faculty under the guidance of Head of the Department, Prof. Dr. hab. Katarzyna Adamczewska-Sowińska. The subject of  Olga Sharapanyuk thesis associated with the improvement of growing  technology of planting material of fruit crops (apple rootstocks).

   Lyudmyla Hudik from 1 to 31October 2013 will hold an internship at the Department of Fruit, Vegetable and Cereals Technology under the guidance of Head of Department Prof. Dr hab. Jan Oszmiański. The subject of Ludmila Hudik Thesis dedicated to innovative technologies of improving of apples storage after postharvest processing by ethylene inhibitor.
