XIV All-Ukrainian Conference of Young Scientists
On March 14, 2013, XIV All-Ukrainian Conference of Young Scientists dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Cherkasy region started in Uman National University of Horticulture. The conference traditionally was held in the form of plenary meeting and meetings of research groups.
In her opening speech Rector of Uman National University of Horticulture, Doctor of Economics, Professor O.O.Nepochatenko said that it’s a challenge for young scientists to find answers to a number of complex, interrelated questions. She wished the participants of the conference inspiration, mutual understanding and creative innovative approaches to solving problems for the benefit of our country's prosperity.
Young scientists, young lecturers, post-graduate students and students of leading universities and institutions took part in the conference.
The post-graduate student of Biology Department L.F.Pidan began the plenary meeting, presenting the report "Formation of Cherkasy region", which described the historical aspects and conditions of creation of Cherkasy region.
Post-graduate student of Vegetable-growing Department N.V.Vorobyova made a report about the influence of biohumus on crop capacity of early-ripening potatoes.
Problems of storage and processing of grain were highlighted in the report of postgraduate student of Technology Department R.V.Dovhun, who demonstrated visual indicators how technological indices of quality of buckwheat depend on the region of growing.
Post-graduate student of Management Department L.O.Franchenko analyzed the current state of grain market in her report “Organizational and economic principles of increasing efficiency of export marketing activities of grain producers”.
After the plenary meeting the participants continued working in research groups.
